Notes - On 22th July 1878 Sarah Brockbank was found guilty of receiving goods well knowing them to have been feloniously stolen. The stolen goods were seventy pounds weight of brass, three chisels, two hammers, and three pieces of iron, the property of the Bolton Iron and Steel Company. They were stolen by Charles Frederick Brooks aged 19 who worked as a butcher. Both were sentenced to six months hard labour in the County Prison for the Hundred of Salford.
Sarah was living at 10 Spa Road, Bolton, at the time of the 1881 census, with her husband and her children, and also her grandchild Emily Tatlock.

By the time of the 1891 census she was living at 7 Weston Street, Bolton, with her husband, and also her daughter Elizabeth Tatlock and her children. She was then aged 61, but mistakenly gave her age as 42 on the census return.
