  	Bury and Suffolk Herald - 20 January 1830 A few days since, a man named Matthews in the employ of Mr De Carle, coach-maker, of this town, attempted to put an end to his existence by hanging himself. He had gone down the cellar, and not returning after some time his wife went down and found him hanging. She immediately cut him down, and assistance being procured, he after a short time recovered. He made a similar attempt a short time since, and on that occasion also was cut down by his wife.
